A betting progression changes the size of successive wagers. It does not change the cards already dealt or replace the rules that govern the value of a blackjack hand.

Positive and negative progressions

A positive progression raises stakes after wins, while a negative progression increases them after losses. Both can produce very different balance paths from the same sequence of results. Describing that pattern is not evidence that the system creates an advantage. A loss sequence can exhaust the available funds before the intended recovery occurs.

Separate staking from decisions

Choosing to hit, stand, split or double is a decision about a hand under particular table rules. Choosing how much to stake is a different decision. Combining the two under a label such as best system can hide which claim is actually being made.

Include the limits

Any example needs a finite starting balance and a maximum stake. A plan that assumes unlimited funds or unlimited table limits is not a realistic description of play. This revised article removes the claim that mixing progressions increases the chance of a successful hand or ensures that losses can be recovered.
